Need Advice: Currently in institutional sales at AM firm, but have a WM offer
Hi Guys,
just seeing if i could get some advice
currently an Associate Director in Institutional sales (BD, F&E, insurance, etc) and a recruiter reached out for an AVP role at another firm. they are looking to push their WM funds/platform to financial/wealth advisors.
i like the institutional world but its very slow and the decision making is usually not flat so sales cycles can get very long. plus, we are more product generalist than salesman at this point..wondering if anyone else has experience in a similar role where they sell to financial advisors. it seems more like a wholesaler role but the title is AVP, Client Relationship Management.
any feedback is appreciated.
in terms of $$, the AVP position is slightly more and i think the commission potential is similar.
