Networking

Question: How do you keep the conversation going after the first networking call?

Goal: Investment Banking Analyst

Hurdle: Seems to be quite easy getting first calls with people who work in IB but am wondering how do you guys keep the conversation going? How do you set up calls in the future? Maybe I’m too much in my head. I don’t run into this problem with college friends or family. Any advice?

Not sure if you mean with the same analyst or another one. If with the same analyst, tell him you'll keep in touch and actually keep in touch every couple months with an update. Then, when you want to have another call, you email him and say hey can we set up a quick call for reasons x, y, z. If wanting to get moved onto another analyst, at the end of your first networking call if its going well, say thanks for your time, I'd really appreciate if there is someone else you can connect me with at the firm so I may learn more about it. Something like that.
