Networking call with “Head of Corporate Finance & Solutions”

I am going to have a networking call with someone who went to my school, his current position is head of corporate finance & solutions, and before that he was a Director at a different bank.

What exactly is his new position? Is it just a different title for MD or is it a completely different function?

Is there anything I should ask/not ask someone in this position, compared to if he was a Managing Director or Vice President?
