Question: is it weird/appropriate to network with the banking teams my firm works with?
Background: I am an intern at a company that uses investment banking functions to finance our operations. We (and I) interface with the investment banking teams regularly. My internship is only through the end of May and I have no interest (nor choice) to work for the company after that (no FT positions).
One of the company's we work with has an opening on an IBD team and I would like to learn more and ideally interview if I was the type of candidate desired.
How can I approach reaching out to the contacts I have about learning more regarding the opportunity?
Should I even do that?
