Networking with Interviewer After Rejection
What's the protocol for networking with interviewers where you failed to get the offer? I didn't get the offer in a recent superday but I really connected with an interviewer and was wondering if it was fine reaching back out to them to stay connected and be in touch if they have an opening in the future.
Had done this but not too well. I find it worth the try.
Did it with someone from HR with a lot of success. She referred me two nice opportunities later on.
I imagine it can be similar with an interviewer but the success rate is definitely extremely low.
How did you go about it with HR? Did you politely ask for them to forward your CV to their network for relevant opportunities?
I asked her for feedback on my interviewing skills and she was nice enough to have a call with me to go over that. I think I sent her one email a few weeks later just to keep the "relationship" open and tell her I was still interesting by roles in that field, but it's her who reached out a few months later to offer to refer me for an opening at the firm.
Did this after the spot I was supposed to interview for got filled before I could even interview. The person liked me and referred me to several teams within the company and set me up with a few interviews. I think it works well with internal recruiters, they’re usually very nice.
I always add them to Linkedin regarding the result of my interview
Also, besides linkedin, is always good to ask for a feedback, this will help you for next interviews and creates a good image
