No job yet. Alternatives????
So I am from a non target and I am a senior graduating in May with a ton of great experiences and internships. I have been networking my butt off and have had several informational interviews with people I have met, but nothing has seemed to pan out from the banks/trading firms. At this point I am even looking at Internships as a way to get my foot in the door.
But I was just wondering, how good does it look to have volunteer work on my resume? Are there any prestigious volunteer groups that I might be able to apply for that would look good?
Any thoughts/comments would be great.
Thanks.
I'm in the exact same situation. (Check your PM)
Similar situation, except with consulting. You can always do a year in a corporate finance role and then do a top MSF. Or, stay a few more years and just get an MBA.
I don't think volunteering is bad per se, but now sure how does it get you closer to IBD/S&T.
Best of luck.
If you live in a major metro area, look for unpaid internships at boutique i-banks (might need to press people to create positions for you). Like volunteering you'll make no money but the experience you get will directly tie in to what you want to do.
no, but if you need more advice, you can always PM and i can try to help
