Non-Target Class of 2020 Grad - Need Advice

So i'm a class of 2020 grad from a non-target school in the Midwest. Through my undergrad career, I've managed to garner 5 internships. I started off in real-estate development and transitioned my way into LMM PE and ended last summer with a 2 month SA position at a L/S hedge fund in the Chicago area.

While I thought my background could allow me to differentiate myself prior to applying to MM & LMM IB positions, the COVID pandemic hit and now it seems there's a hiring freeze for the most part. Now it's difficult to even get interviews. I wanted to post to ask you guys for advice on how to handle this situation. I've spent the past 2 weeks really focusing on cold calls but since everybody is working remotely, getting a live person on the phone is difficult. Additionally, I'm targeting anywhere in the US and have utilized the Axial database to compile lists of LMM/MM IB and PE shops to call. Thank you guys for your advice and time.

TLDR: What MM/LMM IB & PE shops have a soft spot for undergrad, non-target candidates with solid, diversified experience. Your thoughts and comments are greatly appreciated.

Hey there. I'm interested to know how your search has gone since posting in May. I'm a 2020 grad with a very similar situation. Got a few interviews in the pipeline but nothing to brag about. Would love to hear how your networking/studying efforts have changed.
