Non-US student getting a position in IB?

Hello, I’m currently a senior for the best target in an APAC country, with a local EB (think PJT, Evercore, Lazard, etc.) internship and a PE internship. I have a strong connection within the managerial level (think Director and above) at a BB in the US, and am wondering if I should push this connection to get me a job in the US. Have you seen any cases where this kind of connection lands someone a job? Thank you!
