odd diversity question...

hey guys, i'm new here so there may have been a post on this in the past that i couldn't find in my search so forgive me in advance if this is true.

i just had a question about diversity events for bb firms. so im a sophomore at a target and there are definitely a lot of diversity events and the like. technically i count as an URM since my grandma is african, but if you were to take one look at me, you would never guess that. so when it comes to these events, ive been self conscious to show up and have them kind of question me and think im playing the system. im not sure to what degree that might hurt my chance at a bank.

so my question is, do i list myself as a minority or not? should i list it in the application? thanks for the responses in advance...

Dont do it bro, just compete with everyone else on terms of merit.

If you were in the White Minority in Kenya or something, you don't count.

Don't do it. Doesn't sound like you really are a URM unless you, or your parents are URM 100%.

If I was interviewing you, and caught you doing this, I would grill you on it.

But again, you have the option of using it.
