One internship offer and two waiting

I received an offer in a sector that I'm not too interested in developing as a career. There are two other companies I'm waiting on to get back. They're both better options than the current one. I asked the other two companies to expedite the decision process, they told me they couldn't, and don't have a specific date for when decisions come out. I believe I might hear back from the two companies in two weeks. I've asked the company I received an offer at for extended time, but the latest they give is early next week, saying they need to respect other candidates' time. What should I do? Any advice on how to extend the timeline further? The last thing I want to do is renege on the current offer if I get one from the other two companies.

How much do you need the current offer and what level are you? Will you be screwed if you turn down this offer and then also lose the other two?

I'm personally anti-reneging but it would be understandable in this situation, assuming you're in college. If you are post grad and already have a job but trying to lateral, I would not renege though.

Oh this is for sophomore year? It really does not matter what you do for soph year and the industry doesn't determine your future career, I would not get too caught up in it.

Personally for something this minor I would try to avoid reneging - up to you whether that means accept or decline the current offer. For junior year/FT it would be one thing to renege but soph year internship is of no consequence to your future career
