One Week After Superday?

Here's my situation:

  1. superday was 5 days ago.
  2. Sent out "thank you" emails the day of the interview. Got some "thank you" responses back.
  3. No response since then.

At the 1 week mark should I call HR back? What if I don't have any other outstanding offers? What to do from here?

Wait until the end of the week, then send a polite email asking when to expect a response from them, assuming you didn't already ask that at the interview. Be sure to throw in a little reference to a good conversation you had during the interview and let them know of any new developments on your end.

Good luck man!

Unless the position is for an immediate start, five days after your Superday is too soon to reach back out to them. I suggest you wait a week at the absolute minimum, and only then reach out if you have a good reason for needing an immediate response. Sounds to me like you're just eager - I suggest you relax and wait another week.

You need to follow up sooner. Email at the least, but you might want to get in the habit of calling as its easy to avoid emails. It may not have an impact on their decision, but I would suggest staying more on top of it in the future. After a couple days, I dont think there is anything wrong with calling to check your status.

At smaller regional offices, directors travel more and the decision makers might have been unexpectedly busy. Over a week though is getting less and less likely. I would keep searching and be a little more aggressive.

In my experience from junior year, banks extended sa offers in 1-2 days. I even heard others speak of an SA offer within a few hours of the superday ending. For full-time, some banks took longer to extend offers, but investment banks are quick to make decisions on hiring. There really isnt much to worry about, keep looking while waiting to hear back from this bank. My advice was just trying to encourage you to be a little more aggressive. When I was interviewing, I was like you and worried too much about following up. Calling and being proactive, especially with smaller, tightly knit groups isnt going to hurt.

is it possible that i am an alternate and they are waiting to give me decision based on if someone else accepts or reject an offer?....also would you recommend a call or email?
