People who got fired for lying on CV, what happened to you?

Curious to know what happens when you get fired for lying in your application. Like, I bet it’s different when you are 21 then when you’re 5 years into your job right?

I got an internship offer rescinded as an undergrad for failing a background check (was an honest mistake on my part - I didn’t lie).  Answer: nothing - I’m at a better place now I just steer clear of that firm (not like anyone remembers me but I’m pretty sure I’m blacklisted there and don’t want to make it through a process only for them to see that and rescind again)
