Perspectives on Career Path with Capital Markets Analyst Position

Howdy Yawl,

Just another kid looking for some advice on what to do with his life.

I'm a recent MSF graduate from a semi-target school currently interning at a small boutique buyout fund focusing on healthcare M&A. I've been tossing resumes out here and there trying to line something up for after the internship ends and was recently reached out to for a position as a capital markets operations analyst position. Normally I'd be happy to pursue the position with full force, however, the role is at a residential home loans agency and I'm not exactly sure whether that it will offer the same kind of experience I'm gunning for.

Was wondering if anyone would be able to shed some light as to whether the experience would be beneficial towards a banking career or whether I should continue searching for something else. Thankfully was able to graduate with no loans with parents that are more than happy to keep me fed and sheltered in the meantime, meaning that I can afford to be picky in my search and don't necessarily need to take up the first offer that comes across my table. That being said, I'd love to hear thoughts on whether this might be able to set me up to more easily pick up a capital markets analyst role somewhere a little more prestigious after an appropriate amount of time.

Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts below
