PIMCO to IBD BB

current sophomore, semi-target, 3.8+ GPA

have an offer from PIMCO for an internship in their client-facing role, but not sure if I should take it if it will be fine for 2023 SA IBD recruiting. have some other interviews lined up for a big 4 firm and low-tier BB. thoughts?

PIMCO > Big 4

Don’t go Big 4, it sucks.

Low-tier BB I assume you mean something along the lines of RBC, TD, Scotiabank, etc

What I think = Meh, I wouldn’t work at any of those I listed (RBC I would consider)

Honestly, PIMCO is a great company and if you land there I wouldn’t see why you would want to go to IB unless your true passion is making money.

PIMCO is a large and reputable shop that has been growing like crazy this past year. Pay is competitive and you’ll have a good WLB.

I would say go for it, it will still set you up for Junior year if you wanna do IB.

PIMCO has brand name recognition

By client facing role do you mean a client service associate? If so, disregard the above commenter (especially if you’re looking to recruit for IB). It depends what the role is at the big 4 and BB.
