Please offer me some advice
I'm a senior at a non-target university with a sub 3.5 GPA. I never held a job in my life nor do I have any internships. I haven't networked at all either. My exposure to finance is limited to schoolwork. What should I put on my resume for an internship? At the moment all that it has on it is education. Ideally I would want to work within asset management. Please offer me some advice, thank you. At this point is it possible to still get a career in finance?
An entry level gig at a firm like fidelity, TDA, etc might be hard. I would list relevant courses. Is your major GPA higher than total GPA? My advice would be to go to an insurance firm like AXA etc. (they "hire" anyone and everyone) and getting your 7/66, afterward run away from them. Now you have two licenses under your belt, which will greatly increase relevant job posts. The hardest part about licensing is getting sponsored but once you pass it you have 2 years to find something you actually want to do. I would also find an excuse as to why you hadn't had a job/internship in the summer; i.e. summer classes. That will certainly come up in an interview. Can also use your schools Career management
