Positioning Tips?

Hey guys, I'm a freshman at a non-target state university. Managed to get an internship for this summer at a small IT consulting firm (specialized in ERP implementations)

For full-time hiring I'm interested in either MBB consulting or Equity Research/Hedge Funds

What sort of internship should I aim for Summer 2016 to keep my options open? I just want to make sure I don't get too pigeonholed on either route.
