Yes, sounds like a great opportunity
Sounds great. But also make sure to have fun & enjoy one of your last summers left.
Sounds like a great opportunity, but don’t limit yourself to certain banks while recruiting for your sophomore summer. Treat the process as you would for a junior internship (cast your net far and wide - many BB have sophomore programs). However I agree that you should enjoy your summer, and relieve some anxiety by remembering it’s a practice run that will better prepare you for landing whatever junior internship you want (or possibly land you where you want even sooner).
I’m a freshman as well. Did you learn how to do the work you’ll be doing in the internship on your own? Like how to do the valuation work and stuff. Also how did you go about getting it? Have you been reaching out to alumni and stuff?
Congrats on the offer though.
Thank you. Wall Street oasis and other sites have courses for pretty much everything finance. So I did an excel course and I am currently doing a financial modeling one. I met the managing director playing tennis in high school and built a relationship from there. Didn’t realize what I was doing at the time but it worked out I guess lol. But what I would recommend doing is cold emailing local boutiques and other smaller financial companies in your area. Also look on internship websites for anything else.
Yeah, I have taken an excel course but have yet to take a financial modeling one. Damn haha, that's pretty cool. Thanks for the advice. With nothing special on my resume except finishing an excel course, would I still be able to secure an internship?
I'd say nice job. I interned at a valuation firm my sophomore summer, so it looks like you have a good head start. Congrats on the offer, and keep hustling!
