I led a group of Boy Scouts through 2 100+ mile hikes in 2009-2010. I honestly believe that these two experiences strongly augmented my leadership skills, probably more than anything else on my resume. However, since it's now 2013, am I too far removed from these two hikes to put them on my resume with effectiveness?

I think Eagle Scout is always ok to list on your resume.
I don't think you should put too much focus on other stuff on your resume. If you were a ranger at Philmont, that's probably also worth one line, or maybe listed on the same line next to Eagle Scout.
Since I turned 18, I've technically been listed assistant scoutmaster in my troop as well, though I haven't really done anything.
