Python portfolio project ideas?

I am trying to come up with some coding projects that would look good for asset management / quant type internships. Not really sure of the kind of complexity and breadth I should take them to because I only have basic python / data analysis skills.

Basically just trying to show that I know how to program and that I’m interested in quant finance.
