Quant Career switch

I searched quite a bit and didn't find any comments I was looking for. hopefully someone here can address.

Im currently working in a corp dev/strategic alliances role and would like to switch to a quant career. I have an undergrad in computer science, did great in my programming days and have an MBA with a decent amount of exposure to finance topics. After a few years working post MBA, I think I'd enjoy a more technical role. I have been looking at schools offering MFE programs and have passed CFA 1, working on level 2 now.

Do you think I have a decent shot at switching careers (again). Btw, Im 35 now, which has also got me concerned about my chances of getting into a quant career. Please provide your thoughts.
