Reach out to incoming analysts that recruited successfully. Smart or risky?

Title above states it. Seen some people from my MM (Jef/Gug tier firms) (or comparable firms) that rerecruited for BB/EB. Would it be smart to reach out to them, or do you guys think it's risky?

I would just want to reach out on how they navigated FT recruiting and also any advice on navigating the process.

Nah they have no reason to screw you like that. Just tread likely (don't follow up like 3x to people) and maybe go for folks that are older and less likely to talk to people from your bank (so current analysts, not incoming analysts)

Also if you can tell who was in your group, don't talk to anyone from your group just to be extra safe. but again no one is really out to screw you with your current bank

got it. With current analysts do you think it's wise to reach out later (like 1st week of internship) or do you think now is fine? Sorry-- I feel like FT recruiting is such taboo, and I don't know anyone at my school that has done it.
