Really worried as an incoming SA - looking for advice (lower tier BB - Rebuilding Coverage Group)

I'll be interning at a lower-tier BB this summer. I have been placed into a coverage group that could be stronger and is rebuilding after recent senior turnover. I am confident in my skills and willingness to work long hours. However, given the current market conditions, I am really worried about the return offer, especially considering my coverage group (worked really hard to get here - non target non diversity, considering my school FT recruiting would be extremely challenging for me). Not sure what the return offer rate for my group is looking like. Return offers at my firm are generalist. Do firms give out return offers even if the summer group is unwilling to hire more interns, so the intern can join another group since he performed well? Looking for advice. Thanks.
