Recruiter call about GPA

Hi all,

I recently applied to Citi's 2021 SA program, and left my GPA (3.0, recovering math major) off my otherwise strong resume. I just got a call from a Citi recruiter asking for my GPA. Does this call mean anything, or is it just standard practice before reviewing resumes? They're required to submit candidates to handshake tomorrow.

They are checking if you have made the minimum cut-off for the job which is technically 2-1, which means they like your resume and would love to proceed on with you if you meet the minimum criteria.

Do you think there is a big difference between a 3.8 and a 3.9 from a target school going into recruiting?

Wrong question to ask. It "means" you need to call the recruiter back and disclose your GPA. I get that you want to know now, but you'll find out if you get an offer when you get an offer. Focus on what you can control, like "how can I answer directly while positioning myself in the best light possible."
