Recruiters? The Scum Of The Earth? Or Useful?
Hi all, given how competitive and tough recruiting has been I’m considering working with a recruiting agency. Because my 14-months of M&A experience was a part-time analyst role while I was finishing school, many of them will want a deposit or to collect a fee. Some of the ones I’ve talked to are Selby Jennings, and EGIS Careers. Any thoughts / experiences are helpful. Thank you in advance, cheers!
First of all do not give any recruiter a fee, second of all Selby Jennings is not a very good firm on the finance front (I have never heard someone get a job through them).
Recruiters can be great to find jobs. I found my current role through one, we use them to place lots of management at our companies. I will say recruiter can be hit or miss but if you are working with some of the more established ones that get mentioned on this site, then yes they can be very helpful.
Never pay a recruiter a fee or a deposit. They get paid by the company you end up getting hired by, not you.
Stay away from Selby Jennings they post fake roles and their team is comprised of incompetent communications majors
