Recruiting cold emails

Anyone else had a massive drop in their email hit rate? A friend of mine at a different school has a had the same issue over the past 1-2 weeks. If others are experiencing the same thing, anyone have a guess as to why? More people trying to connect with bankers? Deal flow picking up?

Bankers I’ve spoken with told me they’re getting a record number of inbounds from students (1+ inbound/hour). Also, people reaching out for FT roles but Summer 2025 also kicking off so their inboxes are swamped

also, would recommend reaching out late afternoon or evening ~7-8pm, usually unlikely for analysts to be scheduled on calls at those time, and so you may get better hit rates. And quick follow ups (I was following up after 2-3 days). Good luck

Agree that networking emails are best sent from 6pm-8pm for analysts and associates as most should either be working or wrapping up to head home around that hour, so they’d be less busy than other time. Also if you’re getting fewer responses, then send more emails.
