Recruiting for ER and IB at the same bank
Rising junior at a non-target in the middle of recruiting for SA2021. To put the story short, I am more interested in Equity Research, but I know the number of spots on the street dwarfs that of IB SA. While I think I would be a better fit in research due to my knowledge and interest in the public markets, I know IB would give me a similar skillset and I do find M&A fascinating as well. A couple banks I have made solid relationships with both sides of the firm, and am wondering if I should continue to pursue both, or could problems arise if I apply for both at the same bank?
