Reputable MM IB --> M7 MBA Possible?
Hi all, I was wondering if it was possible to go from MM IB (think of Houlihan/Piper/William Blair tier) firm to an M7 program like Booth, Wharton, Sloan, and CBS? I'm a rising senior who is looking to apply to the deferred MBA programs at school, scored around a 730 on my GMAT which I took recently and am looking to graduate from a top 3 undergraduate business school with around a ~3.75. Appreciate all the help.
there are absolutely people from banks like this at bottom 4 M7s. most have 2 years as an analyst there and then 2-3 years somewhere else - LMM/MM PE, corp dev groups.
Can't speak to Wharton but I would guess it is doable.
You will likely not be competitive for deferred tho, those programs are way more competitive than ordinary admissions
Yeah you’re a good candidate for top MBA programs.
Around a 730? I didn’t know GMAC gave approximate scores nowadays. You’re not going to get doxed via telling us your GMAT score lol.
But in all seriousness you would be a good candidate for M7 (idk about deferred). Just get a good side of volunteering/etc and a solid story.
