reputation of London School of Economics in USA
Can somebody tell me about reputation of a Bsc in Accounting and Finance degree from LSE and how attractive such a degree will be to American employers in the financial sector? It'll be great if you can make a comparision between LSE and other top tier universities in USA. Will such a degree be a great support when getting into a good Business School in USA? I will be very greatful if you can answer my questions.
I'm an Asian student from London who is excited about moving and living in USA.
If you have a degree from LSE you will be widely accepted in the USA. A friend of mine has a degree from there and he does quite well.

The LSE master's in finance is a very prestigious degree. But having said that, it will still be tough to land top finance jobs in the U.S. coming from LSE. You have to compete with the top students from harvard/penn/mit/princeton/stanford, etc., and those schools get way more respect than LSE.

I'm currently in my second year at LSE doing a degree in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics. I am very keen on coming to the US to start my career in Investment Banking. I have already interned Morgan Stanley. I was wondering, how fierce the competition i will be facing when i am competing against the big American universities? Will i still have a decent shot at getting into wall street or any of the BB's?

Im at the LSE :D Don't both with the USA atm - they have Harvard kids. Transfer when your in the office. Its easier - esp at MS.

I'm currently in the middle of a gap year at Dow Jones Inc. in London. After that I have been offered to keep the job part-time (maybe full) as I complete my Economics degree at the London School of Economics.
I'm Aiming for top BB firms. A Levels: AAAB. Any advice?
LSE is a great school and well respected on the street. My advice would be to look at firms with a US presence working for the office abroad and then come to the states after some time (be sure to bring this up with whoever you'll be working for) I know a guy who did it, but he was from the states, went to LSE and then came back to look for a gig.
i spent a summer at studying at the LSE. The school has excellent programs in finance and economics.
It's a great name, and it will get you into the european offices of the american BB's - but i don't think that the american offices (ie, NY) recruit heavily at the school.
You might as well just focus on staying in London, and working in the city. I'm sure you could transfer offices later if you want to work in NY.
But do the US offices hire from either of the Oxbridge universities?

This is literally the intellectual equivalent of asking someone if a particular security is a good investment, and then only giving them the industry.
