Rising soph looking for advice
I am an incoming sophomore at a Southern target with good rep in NYC, majoring in econ/CS. I am not in any of the finance clubs on campus, but I do have a few connections with some alumni of a large non-finance club on campus that I am on the leadership of. None of these alumni are in IB anymore, though--either in management roles or buyside. Sophomore recruiting is upcoming and I was wondering if my lack of involvement in these finance/investment clubs would kill my chances. Would I be fine if I learned the technicals on my own time and contacted alums by myself? Thanks!
