You won’t need any of these skills for IB recruiting, just pick up the Q&A technical guides online.

I see thank you. If you don’t mind- do students apply Sophomore year summer for Junior year, or early Sophmore year for Sophmore summer? Seems crazy early just finishing Freshman year but I would like to be prepared ,thanks

No stupid questions, I just wrapped up recruiting (now junior) so was in your shoes last year. Definitely enjoy your summer but spending 1 to 1.5 hours a day on technicals/networking/sending emails before your year starts will put you in a great place while still giving you time to kick it with your friends every night this summer. Reach out to some professionals in groups that interest you and simply ask what they like about their job and what groups you should look into that fit your interests, they'll understand you are a rising sophomore and recruiting is basically over at all EBs and most BBs so they know you aren't just networking to network. Only ask for advice NOTHING internship related don't be annoying. For the technicals I'd start on M&I 400 and just read the M&I group descriptions online for ECM/DCM/M&A/Rx/etc. Should put you in a great place for fall semester. Be sure to pick up a new hobby too if you can, makes you more human for recruiting and can help you blow off steam. Having been exactly in your shoes last year, my final advice is stay positive and make sure you have a good social circle to support you for recruiting, friends are the key to life. It will all work out well, good luck! Happy to PM too if you have other questions, always want to help others out as my mentors basically guided me to my offer this year.
