SA offer from a BB but recently signed FT with another bank - What should I do?

Recently accepted a FT offer from a MM firm. A few days prior to Christmas, however, I received a SA offer from a BB with great exit opportunities (my goal is to work in PE). The FT position starts in September and the SA position runs June-August.

  • Since there would be no time clashes, I am planning to take the SA offer and potentially renege - would you do the same if your goal was to work in PE?
  • Should I tell them about my situation? Guess that I should remain quiet about the this to the MM firm - but what should I say to the BB bank?

Thanks in advance.

Well its mainly about whether I should communicate this with i) the BB firm and ii) MM bank

Thanks for the help.

1) Would it really be that detrimental to ”lose” a year (Sep 23 / Jan 24 vs. Sep 24)?

2) What should I do if HR at the BB asks about my plans after the internship? Should I disclose that I have another role but am planning to renege on that contract should I get a return offer from the BB?
