Curious for takes regarding the job transition period btwn IB and PE - currently a senior IB associate to transition into a PE associate role set to start in summer 2024.
Bonuses are YE and I would like to be able to take more than just a month off (mandatory garden leave) before starting the next role - how many months is it kosher to take off without raising any eyebrows but also maximizing time off to see family / travel etc? Would definitely stay at least til January to capture the bonus but wondering if it may look bad to quit in end of January vs. end of June, particularly that I am no longer an analyst in the more formal 2 year program.
Amazing idea. Take all of it off post bonus.
I quit after my associate bonus took a 6 months off and landed as a VP elsewhere 2 months later — think good luck involved but retrospect time of my life
