Search Fund Freshman Summer
I am currently a freshman at a non-target hoping to recruit into IB. I'm looking for internships my freshman spring/summer to improve my resume and the odds of getting a sophomore year internship, and then ofc a junior summer analyst position. I'm currently applying to a bunch of search funds- I have one offer and an interview lined up in 5 days. My first question is: I've heard mixed things about search funds... given that its my freshman summer and I have very little nepotism to latch on to, would it even be worth it to get one of these search fund analyst positions for the winter/spring/summer? My second question is: What kind of questions can I expect, as a freshman, in a search fund interview? And my third question is: If I should not even waste my time with a search fund, what should I do instead? Cold email boutique IBs and LMM PE funds? What do you guys think?
