Seeking Advice: Considering a Major in Marketing Over Finance

Hello everyone,

I've been enthusiastic about the prospect of pursuing a career in investment banking or a similar field within finance. However, after taking a closer look at my skills and previous work experiences, I'm starting to lean towards majoring in marketing instead.

Currently, I'm a sophomore in college, and I'm in the process of evaluating my career options. I've come to realize that my strengths may lie more in creative analysis rather than in working extensively with numbers.

I've had the opportunity to connect with some professionals who are thriving in the marketing industry, and their success has intrigued me. I'd love to hear some thoughts or advice from anyone who has faced a similar decision or has insights into the marketing field.

Thank you in advance for your help!

My mentor in college was a top exec at WPP so I was able to interview in marketing, but it was much lower pay than management consulting or IB. It seems really cool though - I like it.
