Should I Dumb My Resume Down for Corporate Finance Internships / Roles?
I did not recruit for IB and am left with CF. I stg I have 2 boutique IB internships and a search fund on my resume and I feel like it is hurting me for corp fin roles. I've only gone through a few CF processes, but I interview extremely well but am met with rejection and somehow on LinkedIn the kids getting the roles are from lower quality universities and literally 0 internship experience.
Just wanna mention that I'm not trying to portray an elite mindset but this is a serious concern I'm starting to think is reality in terms of recruiting for F500 companies. I have heard they can consider you a flight risk if your resume is "too good" (someone who will renege as soon as something better comes)
Three internships and none were converted to a full time offer, that could be a red flag for these companies.
I'm a junior right now and they were internships from freshman and sophomore summer. LMM search funds and MM boutiques that I took unpaid.
