Should I give up on equity research recruiting and just do IB?
Current junior at a target that interned in equity research this past summer but haven't heard back from my firm regarding return offers. I've been returning for both sell side and buy side research internships this fall (was too busy to network this summer) but I've been met with defeat after defeat (had been cut at two final rounds) and am contemplating just recruiting for investment banking now. I hate doing rote menial work but I'm running out of places to apply, despite doing a decent networking (had four people at one firm send my resume to a recruiter, still haven't heard back), so I'm feeling a bit dejected. Long term, I want to spend my career in research.
