Should I take this role? (Finance)

I have an interview for this booming media company (turnover is $100mm). Media is not my preferred industry but I need to get experience more than anything - want to break work in banking industry. Ideally, I want to get into FP&A, so I am not sure whether this role is beneficial for getting into FP&A? Is there any questions that I should ask in the interview to ensure I should get the experience I want? ect. I am planning to ask how much of the role is working on financial end statements/analysis.

Why do you want to do bank FP&A, specifically? That's an odd goal.

While this isn't a planning role, you'd get some decent entry-level reporting experience, which is always a plus. You could potentially spin this role into FP&A but really that field likes to recruit either straight up Accountants or experienced FP&A people. I would imagine that banks would be even stricter with those preferences relative to most other industries.

I'd dig deeper into the "month end performance analysis" and "analysis and reporting" during the interview as they could potentially be a bridge to direct FP&A work.

FP&A is more or less the only finance-related role I could break into while being ambitious at the same time - I didn't attend a target school nor do I have the best of school grades. Also, working in banking has just been a personal preferential industry from high school.

Whether I can spin this role into getting a FP&A role is the main question for me and whether it is possible with this job. Obtaining an accounting qualification in this role has to be a must for me - which is something I plan to bring up during the interview although, it says on the job descriptions they do provide study support.
