SIE Exam - Worth it as a junior?
Hi all,
Title really says it all. I'm currently a junior at a small liberal arts college (big target), and currently in the interview process for WM/PB summer analyst roles. I'm wondering if I should spend my month-long winter break studying for and then taking the SIE. Is it an asset on my resume for FT recruiting next year? I have a couple superdays coming up but I may get nothing so I want to maximize my credentials.
Is it worth it?
No. It’s a super easy test that you get paid to take after you accept the offer. Doing it in your own is a waste + will be viewed as odd.
.
The SIE is one of two mandatory exams in the investment industry ( the other the Series 7) it is comprehensive and IMO to have it on your resume demonstrates initiative, and sets you a step ahead of many other applicants.
