Smart kid but VERY undecisive -- looking for advice on getting my foot inthe door.
Hello monkeys,
I'm currently a rising college junior looking for career advice. My long-term goal is to be a PM at a hedge fund, but there are so many roads to get there so I feel paralyzed by choice; I'm struggling to commit to one industry/path, and I feel like that's hurting my chances of being successful.
Anyways, here's a little bit on my background:
- Rising junior at T10 US college (target but not WHYPS)
- Double major in Math/Stats, minor in Econ
- 3.8+ GPA, leadership position in a couple of clubs, volunteer a lot
- Interning at hedge fund this summer (proud nepo baby, I'm not doing anything useful)
- No 2024 (Junior) internship yet -- applied for research/S&T positions but got dinged before superday for all of them
So yeah, I'm basically trying to figure out my options for next summer. As stated above, my long-term goal is to be a hedge fund PM, but I'm not sure exactly how to get there. Given that an IB/S&T internship for next summer is basically impossible at this point, I'm wondering what the rest of you recommend.
Thanks a lot!
