Sophomore at semi-target - phone call with MD

I am a sophomore at a semi target (think ND, Gtown, Emory) with an ok GPA (hovers around 3.4-3.5) and good extracurriculars. I am an athlete, and I reached out to someone in our team's linkedin networking group. He's an MD at what appears to be a pretty well-respected investment firm. I told him that I am looking for an internship for the summer and asked if he could tell me about the work that he does at XYZ firm. He responded the next day, and we have a phone call scheduled for a week from now.

I have no idea what to expect from this phone call. I know I should treat it like an interview, but is it? I have a few questions for him, but I will be completely lost if he starts asking me stuff since I have a very rudimentary understanding of the financial services injury. I am hoping that it goes well and that I can pass my resume on to him, but I am happy to just be at this point since this is one of my first significant networking ventures.

Thanks
