Sophomore year internship - IB vs HF

Hi monkeys,

I have a question and I would like to get any advice. I am a sophomore done with recruiting, and I am deciding what to do this summer. I have IB and HF offer, both places are very modest (I guess the IB firm is 10 people) and HF is 2/3 people. Salary is roughly the same and I don't have a clear preference for the role.

What I am thinking is: does the sophomore year internship play a role in PE recruiting? I have always wanted to do PE after banking and not sure what to do...

Also, I will not have PE experience when I recruit PE in IB. Is that a problem considering that I will be in a group that WSO considers very strong for PE or my IB years are way more important than sophomore internship? Will the buy-side HF be fine or should I try to get something in PE for this summer?

Thanks for your help as always
