SS Number on transcript
My academic transcript has my social security number on it, and I don't feel comfortable emailing a scanned copy as-is to various firms. Can I black it out and then send it, or will that give firms the wrong impression? Thanks for you advice.
I've blacked it out before. I think it is fine. They don't need your SS#...yet.
2nd that. Of course, they will want an original transcript when they hire you. Then again, they will already have your ssn by that point.
Agreed, just black it out. But, the risk of identity theft from an investment bank's HR dept is minimal.
