Struggling to lateral into IB...should I give up.

As the title says.. I am wondering whether lateraling into IB will be possible. I have been working for a big 4 firm for a few years now and have spent the last year trying to lateral into IB with no luck. I have had chat after chat and have gotten a couple interviews but have had no luck. Every firm seems want prior IB experience or someone fresh out of college. Went to a non-target, was a double undergraduate major with great grades and got my Macc. Feeling like the chance of breaking in is slipping away and am not sure what else to do. Do not really want to go back to school to get an mba when I already have a Macc. Any advice out there would be appreciated.
