Study Abroad or Stay for Recruitment

Hi this is my first post on here but I would really like some help on this topic. I am a first year student at a very non-target. I have done well with networking so far and typically have 2-3 calls a week with Analysts and Associates at BB’s and Boutiques in my area.

My mom works in consumer banking at a bulge bracket think JPM, BofA, UBS and has put me in contact with some MDs and VPs at the bank. So I have had a few calls with said MDs and VPs although I still have not gotten a 2025 summer offer. This summer I am interning at a non-IB financial services company, and I have completed a few externships and plan to complete search funds as well.

I recently got accepted for semester program in Spain for my spring 2025 semester and have always wanted to study abroad, although I feel that it will heavily mess up my timeline for recruiting for a sophomore and junior role.

Should I not study abroad and just focus on trying to get IB or should I say fuck it and try to figure it out.
