Had a super day with somewhere around 12 different interviews. Was the first time I had every gone through one of these and I must commend those who go through multiple super days.
The interview consisted of behavioral, technical, brainteaser, and case study. I think I did pretty well on behavioral, answered all the technical questions correctly, missed the brain teaser (but still had some strategic thought that I walked through) and I think I totally whiffed on the writing case interview.
Do you guys think that the written case interview and brain teaser are enough to hold back an offer?
How long are super-days? I had a six hour interview at a boutique consulting firm and that was exhausting, so I can only imagine super-days.
My super day was about 8 hours at a boutique IB.
if you have trouble with 8 hours of moderate pressure, you better hope to get put into a slower grop
that is really damn long. I had 2 at BB's in one day that didn't last that long, combined. Nor did i ever receive brain teasers.
Waking up at 4am to catch a 6am train to NYC, then participating in a 6-8 hr super day, catching the 7pm Acela back down and getting home at 10pm is not the way I like to spend my time...+1 on super exhausting.
I had to go through about 45 individual rounds of interviews (About 8 companies) before getting an offer. Worse was when I had a dinner on Monday, 2 back to back on campus interviews on Wed, a dinner Thurs, and a 9 interview superday on Friday, all for the same company. After about the second superday you get really good at interviewing and you realize all the interviews are basically the same.

Did I mention I stayed up until 4:00 am over preparing for the interview as well?
I don't think it was just the interview that was exhausting, for me its been the last week of preparing.
Aren't most BB superdays 4-6 interviews half an hour each, so 2-3 hours total of interviewing? At least that was my experience. I also heard of a girl though that has been asked to come back for "additional" superdays 3 times for GS IMD!!! Aaand she didn't get the offer, imagine what a waste of time and nerves
Better story..My buddy who is from a semi-target for some BB but non-target for GS, went through 20 rounds of interviews (yes 17 rounds) lasting over 2 months with GS IBD. This was in the middle of the financial crisis. He had a shit GPA (3.2) marketing major but had done some pretty entrepreneurial activity on the side. Did I mention how he DID NOT get the offer. Obscene!
Okay that is def. worse.
I had back to back superdays. I'm currently in Seattle so I thought i'd combine both cuz the other Superdays I had were only 2-3 hours each. One was 6 hours and one was 4 hours. It was fucking miserable, definately not one of my better choices in life.
Its rainy and gloomy all the time. but snowboarding is fucking amazing, especially in whistler.
Pretty weak. A super day is soft. If it's wiping you out that's not a good sign, sound's like you're not commanding your interviews.
My superdays ranged from 8 interviews over about 3.5 hours to 2 interviews over an hour.
JeffSkilling hit the nail on the head. After my 1st superday, I had already gone through maybe 10 individual interviews, and I was a fking beast by then. I absolutely killed all the interviews after that.
Before I hit that turning point, though, I had my fair share of crappy interviews, believe me.
You'll really love balancing PE recruiting with banking. Good luck surviving that if super days are rough on you.
yeah how about this:
Take a flight to Texas from New York for a case study competition with A&M engineers for cash prizes (12 hours on a Sunday) then prep on Sunday for a Shell Trading interview, then drive to Houston for the pre-interview dinner and case study prep, then Tuesday Wake up at 6am and battle out in case studies against PhD grads because apparently we all interview in the same pool of caliber. Then get on a plane Tuesday night back to New York, arrive late at 2am, wake up the next day feeling like death, and head over to Manhattan from Jersey for an ib interview that lasted for four hours BUT your ride doesn't show and your waiting outside the building in your suit and it starts raining. Then you look back, and see the partner of the firm walk past you and not know who you are even though you just interviewed with him 30minutes prior. And I didn't get the New York offer, but the Trading one in Houston. I ended up picking something else and missed 9 days of school including the weekend. talkin about horrible interview process. I wrote an article and posted in our daily newspaper about this shit.
