Superday decision on hold - Waitlist?

I got a call from the HR few days after the superday, who discussed all the comps, start date and other logistics. However, she told me that the offer isn't made yet, and that I'm just one of the finalists from the final interviews, and that the team is still trying to narrow down. Now, it has been a week since my last superday.

Did anybody go through this? Should I try reaching out directly to the interviewers, or am I in the waitlist? I'm not even sure if I'm on the waitlist, because I always thought HR directly reaches out to people who have offers.
