Thoughts on making ~100 applications for SA
Saw this advice on Linkedin (cough Sameer Merchant) but is there any value in making that many applications? I understand it’s a numbers game but are people tailoring their applications to where they’re applying?
I’m personally aiming to make around 30-40 ish apps to M&A firms. Should I apply to more banks?
Who knows, I’ve applied to 100 and have had 2 interviews.
all different divisions?
50 unique firms
Aren’t SA applications almost finished by now?
London started around June and IB is kicking off around this time
If they only require CV why not
Network and build connections at 15 firms, apply, and you will have more success than you will cold-applying to 100.
You can apply to 100 firms and get zero interviews. Quality over quantity. If you establish connections at 10 places you are more likely to land a seat than if you randomly apply to 100.
Not as true outside of the US. Networking matters far far less
