trade finance - would you take it?
I’m a recent graduate and I’ve recently been contacted for a sales role in trade finance in GTS. It’s mostly a product specialist role, and the offer would include a 3-6 months product training in the HQ. If I’m interested in pursuing a sales or trading role in FICC (especially trading) somewhere down the road, would this be a possible exit op? If not, what exit ops are there for trade finance? And would the comp be like? Thanks for all your help.
Trade finance and FICC is completely different. I you want to end up in FICC, consider other offers.
i did a trade finance internship two years ago... it was basically about financing importers and exporters in an international trade...
what bank are you looking at?

Is a trade finance internship worth it with CIT as a sophmore?
Yes - brand name and semi-relevant experience, especially as a sophomore, will put you at an advantage for sure
Thanks
Anybody have anything else?
What else are you looking for? Probably more relevant than PWM; closer to asset-based lending, and will probably do a lot of credit analysis and whatnot so should set you up well for junior summer.
