Trading/Asset Management job for Physics and Mathematics student (currently, freshman)
So, I have been passionate about mathematics since grade 8 and figured I'd pursue it in college. Now, about a semester later, I realise I want a job in trading/asset management or even finance at a FINRA member firm so that I can take the Series 7 (I intend to start my own equity fund one day). I don't want to pursue a Masters in finance, since I want about 2-3 years of work experience; but if no job offers, then I will go for the masters.
Do I stand a chance at getting a job at some financial institution on Wall Street?
Anything extra I should do to up my chances?
Does the CFA Level I and SIE (from FINRA) up my chances at a good job? (don't really want a six-figure job, but a job with good experience)
Are internships the only way? (FYI, I am an international student and finding internships which match with CPT is really difficult.)
