tweaking over a potential resume flaw pointed out by analyst

had a call with an analyst at a pretty prominent firm (think bx/kkr/ares) and they kindly pointed out that they had checked with someone still at my school and one of the points on my resume was pretty misrepresented (almost to the extent that it was a lie)

they were super chill about it and said "they wouldn't do anything about it" but they also said that a few other analysts "on the street" had talked about it

is this just them looking out for me and warning me early on or is it cooked?

Obviously not a good luck but everyone's done it. Just say you've changed it, thank them for pointing it out, and unless it's completely egregious I doubt it would really affect you.

Speak for yourself, bro.
